About This Opportunity

Our Market Data team in the CIB Chief Operating Office plays a critical role in the execution of our strategy. We're responsible for the strategic management, provision and administration of Market data. The team looks to optimise relationships, identify new opportunities, capabilities and data to support our strategy and manages a large annual budget.

Market Data is a broad term used in reference to financial information necessary for analysing, trading and accounting. We source this from external providers.

We're seeking two highly analytical and diligent Market Data Analysts to join our team on a Fixed Term Contract basis.

Your role will focus on optimizing data usage, managing vendor relationships, streamlining administrative processes, and driving cost efficiencies. You’ll play a pivotal role in achieving our 2025 goals, including a 10% cost-saving target, by delivering actionable insights and ensuring alignment between data services and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Optimization - Conduct regular audits of market data usage, identifying underutilized or redundant services. Collaborate with business units to align data subscriptions with their specific use cases and strategic goals. Propose and implement strategies for improving the value of current data services.

  • Vendor Management and Cost Control - Assist in contract reviews and renegotiations with top vendors to secure cost savings and improved terms. Examine vendor performance and advise on actions for optimizing vendor relationships, including strategies for transitioning. Support the development of cost escalation counter-strategies and contribute to achieving cost-saving targets.

  • Efficient Administration - Streamline invoice processing and improve the accuracy of cost allocation methodologies. Ensure administrative tools and processes are suitable and adjust to internal and external changes. Contribute to the creation of adaptive reporting solutions for real-time insights and collaborator needs.

  • Reporting and Insights Generation - Prepare detailed usage reports, financial forecasts, and dashboards for collaborators. Identify trends, provide actionable insights, and recommend improvements based on data analysis.

  • Collaboration and Innovation - Work cross-functionally with procurement, finance, IT, and business units to align data solutions with organizational goals. Stay informed about industry trends and tools to suggest innovative approaches for data management.
