Help us shape the future of mobility

At Volvo Cars, we’re on an exciting journey to shape the future of mobility. We’re building direct relationships with customers, and aim to be a leader in new technology. It’s so exciting – we’re well on our way on our journey towards full electrification. Join us and become a part of our vision for the future – a future that's both exciting and a catalyst for positive change.

Let's introduce ourselves

At Volvo Cars, we shape the future of mobility. Our mission is to make life easier, better, and safer for everyone - working towards a better future. To achieve our company goals, the everyday purpose of the Car Service Business organization is to enable an effortless car usage and service experience. Our teams are dedicated to maximizing the car service experience for our customers globally. We work in close collaboration with our markets and retailers who share the same view.
The Service Data team ensures that all teams at Car Service Business have the ability, competence and technical means to work data driven.
We work together with many other data teams to ensure efficient and shared use of data and data products throughout Volvo Cars and markets.

What you'll do

You will play a key role in setting technical direction in establishing our Data foundation at Car Service Business, as well as designing optimal data pipeline architecture. As part of a multi-functional team, you will work with large and complex data sets that meet business requirements.
Furthermore, you will design innovative tools to reduce maintenance of data pipelines and increase platform reliability.
You will ensure that the solutions are scalable, sustainable, architecturally sound, and that technical debt is both incurred consciously and repaid in a reasonable time.
In this role you will be an active member of the Volvo Cars Data community and collaborate with other Data teams across Volvo Cars.
You’ll collaborate in cross-functional teams to build robust systems that support advanced analytics, predictive modelling and real-time decision making. Our team takes on broad responsibilities, which also means that curiosity and knowledge with analytics and machine learning is desirable.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, we believe that you are knowledgeable and passionate about modern data architecture principles and have experience in software engineering, system design and cloud computing.

You also have extensive experience working hands-on as a Data Engineer, developing large scale data solutions in a complex environment.

Furthermore, you have experience from:

  • Designing and building enterprise data products.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to learn and find new business opportunities.
  • Developing and operating scalable and robust analytical models.
  • Tech stack: Python, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, Spark, Terraform.
  • Experience from automotive data landscape is meritorious.

On a personal note, we believe that you are a self-motivated individual contributor and a great teammate with the ability to prioritize and communicate in a rapidly changing environment.

You are comfortable working independently, but you also understand the value of collaboration and partnership within a team.

We believe that you will fit right into our team if you have a growth mindset and encourage others to have the same.
