Requirements

Position Overview

The Senior AI and Data Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of PCCA’s advanced cloud data infrastructure, enabling seamless integration of business intelligence (BI) and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

This individual will take ownership of the data platform, ensuring it evolves to support both BI and advanced analytics use cases, including machine learning and AI-driven insights.
The role requires a deep technical foundation in data architecture, a proven ability to implement modern data strategies, and strong leadership to guide a high-performing team.
This role will ensure the data platform not only supports advanced analytics but also drives business value by enabling actionable insights and innovation in personalized medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecting and Building Scalable Data Systems
  • Collaborate on the long term technology, data management, and operational strategy associated with integrating analytic data products and artificial intelligence into PCCA’s operations.
  • Lead the development of a cloud-based medallion architecture, encompassing bronze, silver, and gold layers, to support PCCA’s enterprise data strategy.
  • Design star-schema data warehouses to enable robust reporting, BI, and AI use cases.
  • Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows using Microsoft Fabric and other data orchestration tools.
  • Select appropriate tools or technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem to future-proof the platform.
• Advanced Analytics Enablement
  • Integrate AI and data science capabilities into the data platform, enabling machine learning model training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Facilitate AI semantic modeling and preparation for advanced AI applications.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to ensure the platform meets requirements for model experimentation, training, and monitoring.
• Collaboration and Leadership
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment of data initiatives with business objectives.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader, mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative culture of continuous learning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Data Governance and Security
  • Act as the main facilitator and researcher for PCCA’s Head of Data Governance, enabling them to rapidly assess and make authoritative governance decisions.
  • Implement robust data governance practices, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security of enterprise data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive reporting data dictionary.
• Agile and DevOps Practices
  • Drive adoption of SCRUM Agile methodologies for efficient and iterative project delivery.
  • Use Azure DevOps to manage code versioning, CI/DI pipelines, and deployments, ensuring best practices in DevOps are followed.
  • Work closely with SCRUM Masters and Product Owners to align data and analytics deliverables with broader business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications
• Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI, or a related field.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Exceptional ability to create comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural blueprints and diagrams, effectively conveying complex concepts and driving architectural standards.
  • Proven tracking record of designing and implementing medallion architectures and star-schema data warehouses.
  • Experience operationalizing AI and ML models.
  • Proficiency in cloud data platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Power BI.
  • Advanced knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, data orchestration tools, and metadata management.
  • Experience in influencing and driving organizational change.
• AI/ML Knowledge:
  • Experience in integrating AI/ML workflows into data architectures.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for data labeling, feature engineering, and model management.
• Leadership and Communication:
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring team members.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical effectively and business stakeholders.
• Agile and DevOps Experience:
  • Demonstrated success working in SCRUM Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of Azure DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric.
• Emerging AI tools and technologies.
• Proven track record of aligning technical strategy with organizational goals.
• Experience in enterprise-level data governance and security frameworks.
• Familiarity with integrating structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into unified systems.
• Exposure to version control systems like GitHub or Azure DevOps.
