Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.
Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team! As a Data Scientist, you will be involved in full spectrum analytic technical support to mission operations and the intelligence lifecycle: requirements collection and refinement, translating user requirements into technical requirements, environment configuration, exploratory data analysis, model development, selection, and evaluation, identifying insights from analytic products and then communicating those results to a nontechnical audience. To that end, you will work with cross-functional teams to identify relevant and permissible data sources, access available infrastructure, and to develop analytic products tailored to mission user requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical in your ability to collaborate with your technical colleagues and building rapport with the customer. Your analytic products should clearly and succinctly distill trends, illuminate latent patterns, and spotlight insights in an easy-to-consume manner for customers to take action on.
- Participate in architectural design discussions
- Help make decisions on changes to the cloud infrastructure as needed to accommodate changing user requirements
- Consider cost trade-offs of various cloud environment configurations and contribute to budget discussions
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in computer science, data science, and data analytics
- Experience executing data science methods using python libraries for Data Cleaning/Wrangling, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python
- Agile development experience along with related technologies (e.g., Jira)
- Experience with the following is required:
- Data Analytics
- Data Visualisation
- Jupyter Notebooks
- Data Science
- Python and R Studio
- GitLab Analytical Approach
Preferred Requirements
- Understanding of version control, testing, and debugging
- Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), and the intel cycle
- Familiarity and experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to various stakeholders and audiences
- A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred
Education/Certification Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required
Clearance Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
