For our IT organization based at our Headquarters in Lausanne, we are looking for a
Translational Medicine Data Manager & Bioinformatician
The Translational Medicine (TM) Data Manager & Bioinformatician oversees non-clinical data flow management, including data ingestion into the Central Data Repository (CDR) and harmonization for the Metadata Repository (MDR) to improve governance. They support data transformation, analysis on platforms like Genedata, and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards. The role involves analyzing non-clinical and omics datasets, contributing to platform deployment and maintenance (CDR, MDR, Genedata), and collaborating with TM, Data Management, and IT/Digital teams.
Your responsibilities will be but not limited to:
- Contribute to the Genedata Platform development:
- leads the setup and automation
- Develops and delivers tailored workshops
- Leads data ingestion and analysis
- Drive the integration of CDR
- Ensure non-clinical data ingestion for TM projects
- Perform data analysis of non clinical data and complex omics datasets, in collaboration with TM scientists, with various available platforms.
- Contribute to data harmonization and MDR initiative for non-clinical data:
- Understand and state TM specific requirements for MDR in collaboration with IT team
- Facilitate MDR implementation by developing optimal data templates for external partners
- Contribute to CDR maintenance for TM data
- Develop Data Management related processes linked to the different platform deployments, as needed
- Unique opportunity to work with multi-modal data types, (genomics,...), in a multi-disciplinary team of Translational Scientists
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in biology, Bio-informatics or related life sciences field
- 3 or more years of experience analyzing large-scale biological datasets, such as genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data, to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets
- 3 or more years of experience developing and maintaining bioinformatics tools and pipelines to streamline data processing and analysis.
- Experience in R- Studio (or POSIT), Scripting (R, Python), Jupyter Notebooks…
- Interest and willingness to further develop software and data engineering skills, (we welcome candidates with strong bio backgrounds looking to grow their coding and data expertise)
- Good planning, organizational and communications skills
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate in a complex, multidisciplinary environment, translating scientific requirements into data platform (service) solutions
- Fluent in English, good knowledge of French an asset
