About the Team

        We are building a world class Global Data Platform using cutting edge Cloud technologies such as AWS, Snowflake and Tableau. This is your opportunity to join the rapidly growing international data team with a focus on driving a cloud first transformation for Worldpay.  Leveraging Safe Agile framework to provide innovative data solutions driving real business value to both our internal and external customers.

       This role is a key position within the Data Solutions team.  You will need to have a breadth of experience in Engineering Data product delivery from requirement to signoff.  You will be hands on technically but also have strong soft skills, be able to collaborate with colleagues and business partners but also work through a problem alone.

What you will own:

• Develop/use the RASI matrix for engagement of stakeholders and communicate any data issues.
• Address production incidents, fixes for short team as well as long term. Provide reliability of production data assets, set standards, guidelines, processes for the team.
• Follow the ITIL framework for best practices on handling production, fixes to production, incident management, problem management and knowledge management.
• Participate in team building, knowledge sharing and empowering the team.
• Produce metrics for current state, and plans for improvement. Define rosters, plans and collaborate. Reach out to data producer/consumers community as needed.

What you bring:

• Very strong on SQL. Must have 10+ years of experience working with SQL on large scale datasets.
• Must have at least 5+ years of Experience in Cloud based Data Engineering with supporting/implementation and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on AWS.
• Must have at least 4+ years of Experience in Cloud Database (like Snowflake) architecture, design, implementation, and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse.
• Nice to have 1+ years of experience in deploying IAC code via Terraform.
• Must have proficiency with programming language like Python.
• At least 4 years of production grade coding experience. Experience with PySpark/Hadoop and/or AWS Glue ETL and/or Databricks w/ python is preferred.
• Using the available enterprise tools, monitor the scheduled productions pipelines for reliable data delivery for data consumers.
• Develop/use the RASI matrix for engagement of stakeholders and communicate any data issues.

• Must have experience on development life cycle, best practices of ETL pipelines, thorough work experience on data warehouse using combination of Python, Snowflake & AWS Services.
• Data engineering experience with AWS Services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Lake Formation, EMR), Kafka, Streaming, Databricks is highly preferred.
• Experience in Astronomer and/or Airflow is preferred.
• Understanding data pipelines and modern ways of automating data pipeline using cloud-based testing and clearly document implementations, so others can easily understand the requirements, implementation, and test conditions.
• Good communicator and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

About the Team

What you will own

• Develop products utilizing AWS S3, Cloud computing, and Snowflake.
• Develop DB scripts on Relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, Snowflake; proficient in shell scripting and experienced in CLI/Linux
• Design, Develop ETL processes in DataStage (including jobs / parallel routines / administration / utilizing shared containers)
• Strong understanding of data flow, process, and transformation
• Provide technical assistance to team and evaluate code; lead development for small/medium sized projects
• Experience in job/workflow scheduling and monitoring tools like TWS, Oozie, DBTs, Airflows, and version control such as GitHub
• Fluency in most IT business architecture areas including business process design and governance
• Proficiency in fine tuning/monitoring the jobs and SQL for better performance
• Monitor jobs and scripts and provide production support, troubleshooting issues
• Experience in error handling, cleansing of data and performing lookups for faster access of data
• Ability to provide technical support and technical quality control for all projects across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Partner with the business teams/stakeholders to understand their strategic goals and help them drive value through data/analytics capability and technology
• Identify & develop opportunities to improve existing analytical & data solutions
• Deliver industry best practice products and solutions
• Take personal responsibility for quality of individual deliverables, and contribute to the quality assurance of the team’s deliverables
• Pro-actively contribute to troubleshooting of data requirements, data modelling, data quality and data governance issues with the wider EDA Team
• Become an integral part of the team, supporting key projects and programs critical to its success.

What you bring:

• Minimum of 7 years of related experience with Bachelor’s degree or 5 years and a Master's degree
• 5 plus years of experience in ETL, data warehousing concepts (on-prem and cloud), database programming

• 3 plus years of experience in Snowflake/UNIX shell scripting/PLSQL and Exadata Oracle / DB2
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to tailor results into language appropriate for the target audience.
• Experience working in all stages of mature Agile Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience in handling very large Datasets in Database Technology like Oracle / AWS RDS /Snowflake etc.
• Extensive experience capturing and translating complex business requirements into practical solutions.
