Whether you’re looking to write mobile app code, engineer the servers behind our massive ad tech stacks, or develop algorithms to help us process trillions of data points a day, what you do here will have a huge impact on our business—and the world.

A Little About Us

We are a fast-paced global service organisation providing human evaluation and diagnostic services including content management and programming, testing and training data, query analysis and insights, and product quality optimisation.

A Lot About You

We're looking for a creative, smart, and versatile generalist with language and technical skills to participate in a variety of projects. You will work on Yahoo Search products, selecting and moderating content, analysing search behaviour, and launching new Yahoo international Search products and features. Using your European language skills and market knowledge, you will contribute to projects that enhance the quality and relevance of Yahoo’s technology.

Your Day

  • Curating and featuring content using data and journalistic standards. Making content choices that will engage large audiences across many international markets.

  • Classifying diverse unstructured data and communicating analyses of users' wants and needs.

  • Partnering with engineers and researchers to provide human-in-the-loop contributions to AI and machine learning, including classification, labelling, and prompt engineering.

  • Liaising with engineering and product leads to keep users’ interests at the core of projects.

  • Making product feature improvements based on your analysis of the competitive landscape and user needs.

  • Effectively communicating ongoing product changes and escalating issues with the appropriate members of the product team.

  • Collecting, analysing, and interpreting search data.

  • Building lists of keywords, including common misspellings and synonyms, to trigger specialised content.

  • Using taxonomy skills to create category structures and classify content.

  • Performing Quality Assurance tasks to ensure our products meet functional, linguistic, policy and relevance requirements in European markets.

  • Using agile project management methods to manage your work and contribute to setting direction for your team.

  • Using GenAI to extend and enhance the impact of human work.

You Must Have

  • Knowledge of the language, culture, everyday life, and current events in a second country from this list: France, Germany, Canada, or a Spanish-language country.

  • A Bachelor’s degree. No specific subject is required, but candidates have often studied Linguistics, Journalism, Computer Science, Library & Information Science, Information Management, or other related subjects.

  • One or more years of related work experience.

  • Fluency in English.

  • A strong knowledge of the language, culture, everyday life, and current events in either France or Germany.

  • Technical aptitude — experience with LLMs, Python, HTML, and Javascript are all a plus.

  • Attention to detail, flexibility, organisational skills, and an abundance of common sense.

  • Strong communication, writing, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience working as part of a team to meet objectives.

  • The ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data.

  • A fascination with the Internet and online culture — you’ll be spending all day with it!

  • A flexible schedule: this role will require some work on alternate weekends.
