A day in the life of a Senior Data Scientist at VF looks a little like this.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, statistical analysis, and machine learning, with a focus on pricing strategy and optimization. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven pricing models that maximize revenue and profitability.

  • Develop and implement advanced pricing models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify pricing trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
  • Understand, improve, and explain the pricing engine's outcomes to guide business decisions.
  • Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to evaluate the impact of pricing changes.
  • Monitor and optimize pricing models to ensure they remain effective and competitive.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts.
  • Leverage junior team members for parts of the solution and peer review their work to ensure correctness.

Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in data science, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing pricing models.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights.

About the Team:

The AMER Data & Analytics team acts as a strategic enabler for the AMER region by delivering data products and capabilities that empower the brands and commercial teams with data and actionable insights. This position requires a hands-on approach to understanding and delivering production-level processes with limited direction from senior management.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5 years of experience and professional achievements

  • Master’s or Ph.D.(preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on pricing and optimization.
  • Proficiency in programming languages Python and SQL with ability to write production level code. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with statistical, machine learning and deep learning models. Background in Generative AI is desired.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with cloud environment AWS/Azure/GCP. Strong ML Engineering skills with ability to understand scalability requirements, design and maintain scalable processes.
  • Experience with Gurobi/CPLEX/PYOMO/OR-Tools etc. and solid understanding of optimization is required.
  • Experience in Retail Industry is preferred

Hiring Range:

$138,240.00 USD - $172,800.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
