The Mission

The Analytics Engineering team is a team of 150+ people (and growing rapidly) that has the mission to make ING data driven. We do this by combining Big Data technology with Data Science to deliver high value solutions and products for our organization. We work in a fun and creative environment, and we’re dedicated to bringing out the best in both each other and our projects.

Your day to day

Your passion is to work with the latest and greatest technologies in the field of data infrastructure. You will work as Site Reliability Engineer on different projects within the ING Analytics Tribe, building new capabilities on the data platform for our projects, products, and new initiatives to run on. You will take part in experiments and prototypes, keep an eye on good SRE practices and support teams and their projects.

What you’ll bring to the team

Minimum Qualifications:

• Familiar with SRE principles and practices, including system and application monitoring

• Bash scripting, Linux systems administration, container-based workloads (e.g. Docker, Podman)

• Experience with Kubernetes, including application development and deployment (e.g. Helm, Kustomize)

• Experience with CI/CD workflows

• Programming in Python

Nice to have Qualifications:

• Good understanding of databases, with focus on RDBMS (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g. Redis, MongoDB)

• Understanding of MLOps architecture and practices for supporting machine learning workflows

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Loki, Grafana / ELK), as well as Apache Airflow, Kubernetes Operators, and Cloud Native

• Familiarity with GitOps tooling (e.g. Flux, ArgoCD) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible), as well as proxy configuration (e.g. Nginx, Envoy)

• Experience programming in Golang

• Experience with distributed systems and clusters for both batch as well as streaming data (S3/Spark/Kafka/Flink)

• System design and architecture knowledge

• Experience with building distributed, large scale and secure applications

• Experience working in cloud environment (e.g. GCP)

• Experience with working in an agile/scrum way
