WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role will be a part of the Global Insights Data Science and Analytics (IDSA) function. IDSA leverages multi-disciplinary expertise across research, analytics and data science to produce and deliver syntheses, insights and reporting to enable Nike’s most critical strategic decisions and drive enterprise growth. Reporting to Senior Director of the EMEA IDSA function, this role will lead the EMEA Marketplace & Shopper Insights team – a team of talented, experienced analytics professionals. This role will work with stakeholders across the Nike Sport Marketplace – Nike Direct Digital & Stores, Marketing, Nike Sales and other functions such as Demand and Supply Management, Finance, Merchandising.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking a seasoned Insights & Analytics leader to join as the Director, Marketplace & Shopper Insights. This role will play a pivotal part in how Nike gains insights on the EMEA Marketplace & shopper behaviours through a variety of owned and third-party data sources.
We are looking for a hands-on leader with the ability to look at the holistic picture across the marketplace – wholesale & direct, while also being able to go deep in consumer analytics in the direct business – both digital and stores, Marketing analytics – someone who can uncover data-driven insights to increase marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
A successful candidate will
- bring expertise in deriving insights from disparate data sets and analyses
- excel at identifying, prioritizing and serving the biggest enterprise priorities and integrating insights into key decision-making moments
- be a good mentor and guide to the analysts on the team
- be adept at collaborating with teams across the globe
WHAT YOU BRING
- A strong quantitative background acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Analytics, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
- 8+ years of experience in Business Analytics, with a strong focus on consumer analytics, digital analytics, marketing investment strategy, ROI analysis, and media analytics.
- Prior experience leading analytics teams
- Experience having worked in a geographically distributed setup, collaborating with teams in different continents and time zones
- Proven track record of building collaborative stakeholder relationships and developing and executing strategic business processes within a large organization
- Hands-on experience with SQL and proficiency in one or more scripting languages (R, Python, SAS)
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior leadership, both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Excellent data-led story telling skills
- Experience working in direct-to-consumer, wholesale and retail environments, with a deep understanding of omnichannel marketing dynamics and the paid media landscape.
- A passion for insights & analytics
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role you will use data & analytics to inform Nike’s enterprise growth opportunities, marketplace strategy, investment allocation decisions, and opportunities to enhance Nike’s presence in the EMEA marketplace in priority Sports.
You will work closely with the Global Enterprise Insights teams (Marketplace & Shopper Insights, Macro & Competitive Insights, and Consumer & Product Insights) as well as with the EMEA Consumer Construct Insights roles to bring deep and holistic insights to the key enterprise decision moments. In this role, you will –
- lead a team of experienced analytics professionals, to analyse, synthesize and integrate insights into actionable recommendations that maximize the impact on brand and business outcomes. You are also able to step in to develop and deliver synthesis projects against critical EMEA priorities
- manage the conflicting needs of the organization through impact-led prioritization
- develop assignment of prioritized work to analyst team, balancing priority of the work, availability of information and capacity of team
- mentor and manage the team on their projects, approach to stakeholders, leadership skills and provide ongoing direction to team members to ensure application of consistent frameworks and approaches
- be the voice of emerging geo-relevant needs to be incorporated into evolved and future centre-led capabilities
- build collaborative relationships and a strong network in EMEA and within the IDSA function
- work with the Global and other Geo IDSA teammates on key business & functional priorities, and look for collaborative opportunities across a geographically distributed organization
- communicate insights with impact

- Developing Data Science models
- Data Engineering/ Maintenance
