Job Title: Lead Experience Data Strategy
Location: Cambridge, MA. The location will change to Morristown, MA in March 2025.
30 % of travel expected

Strategic Context:
Currently, Sanofi has the most robust pipeline and forthcoming product launches in the company’s history. As the next phase of our Play-To-Win strategy, Sanofi must appropriately support this pipeline to materialize our vision of delivering scientific miracles to patients worldwide. Thus, modernizing the Sanofi operational structure is also required. In line with this, project DRIVE is shepherding change throughout the organization and created the development of the Go-to-Market Capabilities (GTMC) team within the company.

The new GTMC organization is charged with delivering best-in-class capabilities to bring speed and increased value to commercial operations. It will refine priorities across products, markets, and the pipeline through dynamic resources allocation and efficiencies. Silos between business units and duplicative and overlapping resources will be replaced with standardized processes and tools. Operating with a One Sanofi mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, GTMC will accelerate and improve key capabilities to do more with less and facilitate the best-informed strategic decision making across the organization.

The GTMC organization aims to:

  • Centralize Go-to-Market operational tasks across GBUs

  • Standardize best in class capabilities, strengthen global support, and implement a better vertical reporting structure within GTMC from local to global

  • Define ways of working, bringing clarity on the interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial executional support teams from Sanofi hubs to optimize process excellence and efficiency


The Lead Experience Taxonomy Governance is responsible for data initiates focusing on data stewardship, taxonomy, governance, and reporting enhancements across experience datasets.
As a member of the market data management team, you will work closely with ethics & compliance, legal, and digital teams to ensure effective data governance compliance while working to improve data quality and ensure the availability of accurate, impactful, market data across Sanofi.

Main Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Drive Sanofi’s Global experience data strategy and operating model based on the priorities and needs of business units

  • Identify current and future needs for market data assets and insight gathering capabilities, ensuring business roles are equipped with the necessary tools and platforms for data-driven decision making

  • Regularly assess adoption and current needs of functional stakeholders for market intelligence capabilities, guiding the innovation of the product portfolio.

  • Innovate processes and methodologies to create value through omnichannel intelligence tools and ensure the continued improvement and efficiency of access to healthcare insights including optimizing the balance between externally and internally sourced industry information.

  • Advise and advocate for, appropriate use of data across all Global therapeutic areas, according to industry best practices

  • Own the relationship and process for acquiring data from third party providers

  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements

  • Communicate progress, escalations, and issues to key stakeholders

About You
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred

Skills and Competencies

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry; equivalent combination of education (MA, MS, MBA / PhD) and / or relevant consulting experience may be considered

  • Experience in a data, research, or omnichannel analytics role gathering insights and building an effective product suite

  • Advanced knowledge of procurement, including direct materials and indirect sourcing, supplier management, contract lifecycle and financial management

  • Strong capabilities in leading the development of advanced modeling and analytics, informing strategic procurement decisions

  • Deep understanding of the Experience / Omnichannel data sources primarily used in generating business insights within pharma/biotech

  • Expert knowledge of secondary data sources and suppliers in the US market, such as IQVIA, Komodo, Clarivate, MMIT, Google Analytics, etc.

  • Strong familiarity with claims data, script level data, patient longitudinal, specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, lab and real-world evidence data

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required

  • The ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment is important

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to data governance is expected
