Business Intelligence Developer Intern, Summer 2025
Quebec City (Province of Quebec, Canada)
What if you could transform raw data into valuable insights that drive strategic decisions?
Join our Product Intelligence team! This team plays a critical role in supporting our clients and monitoring features through robust and scalable analytical environments. The goal? To empower data-driven decision-making at every level of the organization.
As a Business Intelligence Developer Intern, you will hone your programming skills while deepening your understanding of business concepts. You will contribute directly to impactful projects, including the creation of data models, dashboards, and programmatic tools. You’ll become a key player in driving the strategic decisions that shape the future of the company.
What your typical day would look like:
- Your day begins with a team meeting where you share your priorities for the day and your successes from the previous day. You explain how you managed to solve a complex issue in our query pipeline data model.
- After this meeting, you collaborate with colleagues to discuss upcoming improvements to our anomaly detection tool. Together, you explore strategies to better identify long-term anomalies and ensure optimal performance.
- Next, you focus on creating an interactive dashboard for the Customer Success team. Using our product analytics database, you design a visual tool that helps them better understand client trends and needs.
- After lunch, you take the time to review requests from internal clients. You guide them in finding the relevant data and work with a colleague to clarify the details of a particularly complex request.
- Later, you dive into designing a new database. You ensure that each table and field is precisely configured, guaranteeing an accurate and valuable representation of the data.
- To wrap up your day, your internship mentor sets aside time to discuss your experience and answer your questions. Together, you review the technical challenges you encountered, particularly with Snowflake, and identify strategies to overcome them effectively.
Here's what will qualify you for the role:
- You’re currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- You have a first internship experience and you have a strong passion for data analysis and data engineering.
- You've mastered SQL and are keen to develop expertise in Snowflake.
- You're interested in business metrics and their strategic role in an organization.
- You take pride in what you create, and are constantly looking for ways to improve through constructive feedback from experts in the field!
And the cherry on top that will make you stand out:
- You have experience in data modelization (DBT) and with Python.
- You aren’t afraid to ask the right questions to get a thorough understanding of your tasks; knowing that you don’t know everything is very important to your success.
- You’re proud of what you create, you strive for self-improvement, and you’re disciplined.
- You have strong organizational and time management skills, which you use to find meaningful solutions.
You don’t need to check every single box; passion goes a long way and we appreciate that skills are transferable.
