Job Summary:

The Business Systems Intern Data and Analytics Intern will work in collaboration with the Business Systems team on the BI/Analytics information project to provide data driven solutions for decision making and process optimizations.

  • In collaboration with the BSA, review the requirements, present the solution alternatives. 
  • Translate business requirements into actionable items for technical teams. 
  • Implement the best solution to the data problem based on selection criteria of business impact, cost benefit, risk reduction and technology platform.
  • Provide documentation for the work done: Technical specs, validation evidence, migration plan
  • Regularly meet with Business system team to present insights, key learnings, and potential areas of new opportunity that are identified.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data for decision making and to address key challenges.
  • Propose innovative ways to visualize or think about data.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity and experience with data science foundation on data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining 
  • Basic knowledge of structured data sources
  • Familiarity with Data Modeling concepts and process 
  • Familiarity with BI and Data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences both in written and verbal form.

Work Environment:

  • Professional office environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and using a computer.
  • Willing to report to work in the Scottsville office.
  • Lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Light physical effort necessary to perform the job.

Experience:

•     Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Current college student, majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics or related field entering their Junior or Senior year/working towards a post-graduate degree.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $21.50 and $36.00 per hour and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
