The role
We are seeking highly experienced Data Engineers of various levels (Senior, Lead and Principal) on a contractual basis here at ClearPoint, to get involved in the transformation of a modern data platform with our Client.
In this role, you will design and implement cutting-edge systems, mentor technical teams, and ensure best practices in data architecture and transformation. You will collaborate with stakeholders to build scalable, distributed solutions that integrate with modern data tools and frameworks.
We are ideally looking at individuals with immediate availability, and based in Auckland.
The experience weâre looking for (this will vary depending on the seniority)
â At least 5â7+ years in data architecture / engineering and platform developmentâ Deep expertise with modern data tools, including CDC technologies and Apache Icebergâ Hands-on experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark or Flinkâ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, Go, or Java (JVM)â Experience designing and managing scalable, distributed data platformsâ Knowledge of Kubernetes and modern data systems (non-relational approaches considered)â Familiarity with machine learning or AI data workflows is a strong advantage
What youâll be doing (this will vary depending on the seniority)
â Lead the design and architecture for data platform transformation projectsâ Develop and implement scalable solutions using modern tools like Python, Flink, Scala, Go, and Java (JVM)â Integrate cutting-edge technologies such as Change Data Capture (CDC) tools, Apache Iceberg, Apache Druid, and ClickHouseâ Construct proofs of concept (POCs) to validate proposed architecturesâ Mentor technical leads and developers, fostering best practices in data transformationâ Guide teams through data migrations and platform development cycles
