Software Engineering Manager

Meta is seeking an experienced Manager to lead the Analytics Solutions team within the Infra Data Center (IDC) Data Science organization. IDC Data science organization is responsible to build strategic software solutions that analytically empower, model, optimize, and augment the design and operation of Meta’s Data Centers. The manager will build, lead and develop a team of SWE and solutions engineers who are back end & front end developers. The team will be focused on building software solutions in partnership with our core data science and research science team and partners across IDC. Help build Meta’s world class data centers & empower them with software solutions allowing our facilities and sites to become autonomous and better serve billions of people globally!Software Engineering Manager Responsibilities

• Participate in technical design and provide leadership and mentorship to members of cross-functional teams
• Work closely with product and project managers to define and influence product strategy, define problem statements, design & build software solutions, and implement them
• Adopt the best fit for purpose data technologies, programming languages, software frameworks, and open-source libraries
• Partner closely with Research Scientists, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers on design and implementation of solutions
• Identify and implement streamlined processes, tooling, and solution intakes, and create a roadmap of deliverables. Implement best SWE practices for the organization, including but not limited to:
  1) Agile methodologies
  2) Test-driven development and continuous integration/continuous deployment
  3) Code reviews and pair programming
  4) Technical debt management
  5) Documentation and knowledge sharing
• Implementation and Verification: Partner with operational & engineering teams to implement, verify, and iterate on analytical solutions being developed
• Ad Hoc Projects: Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of data center teams

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or other related technical field
• 3+ years of experience leading teams and hands on people management in a matrix organization
• 8+ years of experience in coding & scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, PHP, C++ or Java, API integration, and Web Services
• Database experience
• System design (data modeling, data structures, design & complexity and efficiency considerations)
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex cross functional projects working with project and product managers
• Proven experience mentoring individual contributors
• Proven skills to communicate complex software solutions to all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or other technical or engineering field
• Experience with algorithmic thought process, optimization, and statistics
• Technical knowledge of data center operations is a plus
