This position provides professional statistical and data collection and analysis work that assists in driving philanthropic and engagement strategy
or the Advancement & Alumni Engagement department and greater university community. Under the direction of the Strategic Database and Data Analytics Senior Administrator, the data analyst works with advancement systems to create, build and maintain analytic models and prepares reports through collecting, analyzing and summarizing data. This position serves as a subject matter expert on AAE databases and works with colleagues to understand their information needs, provide technical guidance and support systems to assist them with daily tasks. The Data Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and managing information Ito help advance the AAE development program, particularly in support of its donors and prospects.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the University Advancement database through the collection and interpretation of data to support reports and projects.
Manage, track and prioritize data requests
Extract and compile raw data from multiple databases and platforms
Compile, analyze and summarize reports and mailing data for the needs of Advancement & Alumni Engagement staff and campus partners by writing queries in multiple database software
Interpret computer output and tabulate data
Understand the information processing needs of users and make recommendations on the bestmethods on retrieving information from database
Train all AAE and campus partners on data request process
2. Maintain CRM database, data analysis and procedures
Consistently verify data integrity
Reconcile data integrity with Advancement & Alumni Engagement Finance team
Communicate information effectively to staff members for practical use and follow through such as Template Revision: 10/26/2012 constituent profiles
Oversee and reconcile
3. Prepare reports which accompany data.
Effectively communicate insights through reports and/or narratives which accompany data to explain data and procedures in an understandable manner, summarize findings in a manner that conveys the information.
Interpret and explain the limitations of the data and differences in data reporting over a period of
time.
4. Educate staff and students on data entry and correct system utilization.
Train staff and students on utilization of our data
Direct student employees in the execution of data entry projects.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with database applications and data management, this includes creating new and maintenance of existing databases
Experience utilizing query logic
Experience directing data queries across multiple databases to compile reports.
Experience using a variety of computer software programs, data research tools/software including two years of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software experience
Analytic ability/statistical skills
Ability to work effectively with a diverse clientele
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualification
Two-years of experience working in higher education or in a non-profit organization
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm w/ occasional evenings and weekends
