Overview

Works with technical and non-technical customers to translate business needs into functional specifications using advanced understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare terminology, revenue management data and processes. Mentors and coaches colleagues and partners.

This position will be supporting the performance network operations team in analyzing and reporting data used to be successful in all risk-based contracts, both commercial and governmental. Aspects of this work include outcomes reporting and analysis related to care management and quality improvement. Previous experience working with, and analyzing, payer claims data is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the goals of the organization through reporting, analysis, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills by working with technical and non-technical customers to translate business needs into functional specifications.
  • Advanced understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare terminology, revenue management data and processes.
  • Ensures that standard business definitions are applied appropriately in all forms of reporting.
  • Creates data visualization, such as charts and graphs, in Excel and other business intelligence tools (e.g. SAS-VA, Web Intelligence, etc.)
  • Manages own work and adheres to project timelines under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Builds queries in available BI tools against the EPIC clarity environment.
  • Able to write and execute basic SQL joins and stored procedures.
  • Participates in improvement projects both inside and outside the department.
  • Applies advanced statistical analysis techniques in the context of healthcare operations.
  • Extracts, manipulates and validates data from various sources.
  • Able to mentor and coach colleagues and partners.
  • Adheres to data standards and data sharing policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Five years of experience working as an analyst
    • Thorough understanding of healthcare metric and metric development.
    • Proficient in MS Excel and advanced knowledge of BI tools
    • Basic understanding of relational database concepts
    • Completes Value Institute Green Belt training within one year
