Director, Data Science (AI & Automation)

The Data Product Development and Innovation team specializes in crafting outstanding and insightful products from both traditional data sources such as stock prices and fundamentals, as well as non-traditional data sources such as Alternative Data (satellite imagery, consumer transactions, GPS transponders). Utilizing data from both internal and external sources, we deliver innovative products that power some of the world’s most successful organizations. 

We are now looking for a Director, AI and Automation as we seek to establish a new team in Bangalore. The successful candidate will lead our efforts in creating AI tools for extracting and processing large amounts of data, as well as champion our automation/RPA efforts. 

Your role and responsibilities: 

• Work with Product and Tech teams to own and expand our existing suite of AI-based microservices, leveraging state-of-the-art LLMs from OpenAI and Anthropic

• Collaborate with Product, Partnerships, Client Success, Sales, and Marketing to modernize our workflows using RPA and AI 

• Build NLP pipelines for data labelling, matching and extraction (ex., Named Entity Recognition and Entity Resolution) 

• Assess the quality and adaptability of your solutions and iterate to optimize performance 

• Apply best practices of MLOps / LLMOps in deploying new products and services to production 

 

We expect you to have: 

• 10+ years developing in python 

• 7+ years processing structured and unstructured data using NLP  

• 3+ years management experience, leading a small team and owning projects from concept to completion

• 2+ years applying LLMs and RAG to tackle real-world, industry problems. 

• Proven understanding of NLP and related concepts such as vectorization, entity resolution, string similarity, and semantic search  

• Experience with RPA, web-scraping, and LLM fine-tuning is a strong plus  

• Cloud and systems experience in AWS S3/EC2, Databricks, and Linux 

• Passionate about Generative AI, consistently tracking the latest industry developments  

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written 

• Ambitious and hardworking self-starter, driven to succeed in a fast-paced, startup style environment 

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Masters preferred. 

 

It would be phenomenal if you: 

• Have previous experience crafting financial data products 

• Have strong aptitude and/or curiosity about financial markets 

• Leadership experience in a start-up environment
