About the role 

As a Master Data Specialist, you will contribute to DS Smith’s master data agenda ensuring data is trusted, visible, accessible, useable, understood, and secure across the organisation. You will support the design and development of a Packaging Master Data Hierarchy, and the establishment of a strong data-driven culture, driving the adoption of common cross-business data standards, and nurturing data innovation to enable better business decisions.

 

Your remit will include but not limited to:

·       Create resilient and extensible MDM processes for DS Smith to drive and embed Master Data within the business.

·       Gathering and documentation of Asset Master Data Management requirements through engagement with business and technical stakeholders, in line with agreed business priorities.

·       Ensure that data integrity is maintained, identifying, comparing and resolving master data issues and liaising with data stewards.

·       Day to day management of data issues for the relevant MDM domain in collaboration with the MDM team and wider business community.

·       Ensure Master data conforms to the defined specification and meet business requirements through data profiling, data quality assessment and promote data cleansing at source. 

·       Work closely with the Data Governance team & Business Data Stewards to develop a data improvement plan for identified issues.

About you  

·       Demonstrable skills in delivering Master Data Management Designs in global multi-national organisations.

·       Good understanding of different MDM architecture patterns, Data Integration patterns and Workflow concepts.

·       Functional familiarity with one or more key master entities / domains such as Individuals, Organisations, Product, Locations etc. and the challenges typically involved in implementing MDM for that entity/domain.

·       Proficiency in Data Modelling & Data Quality good practices.

·       Demonstrable ability to resolve problems using a logical and analytical process.

·       Able to adapt quickly to change, have an open mind, and make decisions quickly in challenging situations.

·       Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – able to confidently discuss requirements, priorities, potential solutions and MDM architecture patterns.
