Team Description

The Data Management team is responsible for creating and maintaining the security master (Examples: ETFs, Options, Futures, Common Stocks, etc.), utilizing available external data (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc), and internally engineered and 3rd party systems, to properly research, validate, and represent a security for global consumption. This support also includes researching and validating Mandatory Corporate Action events in the marketplace.  Data will also include maintaining data surrounding legal entities/clients of a global fund administrator and pricing. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interface with our Data Vendor Providers regarding security master data, classifications, etc.
  • Make independent judgments (based upon market/instruments practices) regarding appropriate resolutions for data discrepancies
  • Work with shared office teams and/or Clients to ensure proper impact for Security Master Attributes update
  • Interact with participants and groups to overview initiatives and special announcements
  • Contribute to projects via special testing process and activities related to restructuring of our SM database
  • Provide input/modify procedures and control in order to prevent/reduce breaks/risks
  • Define and work on projects related to mass data acquisition, cleansing and uploading.  Communicate with the Back Office, IT and other Knowledge Management personnel to achieve project objectives.
  • Assist in building international and domestic proprietary databases related to securities information gathered through research and analysis of securities data
  • Make independent/educated judgments regarding appropriate resolutions of data anomalies
  • Define and prioritize special projects, provide regular status to business and KM manager, and project manage through to completion
  • Responsible for maintaining data surrounding legal entities, accounts, investor funds, addresses, and standard settlement instructions for all financial products
  • Oversight of regulatory projects as they relate to the team such as FATCA/LEI/T+1 Settlement changes as well as other projects which improve the efficiency and capabilities of the team

Qualifications                                                        

  • Excellent analytic skills as well as exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of the financial markets and functional knowledge of a wide range of asset classes. 
  • Detail-oriented with the high degree of accuracy and a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook) computer applications. Basic IT skills (database queries, file manipulation) etc.
  • Experience with Bloomberg products, Reuters or any general market data providers desirable
  • SQL
  • 1- or 3-years’ experience in financial services

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or above

    Salary Range:

    $52,800 - 79,200 USD

    Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
