The Wealth Data Lead is a leadership position in Citi’s Enterprise Data Office (EDO), within the Technology and Business Enablement function. The EDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The EDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The EDO organization includes Business and Function Data and Technology Platform teams, and data cross-enterprise capability teams.  

This position will report directly to the Head of Enterprise Data Office and Data Transformation who reports to our Head of Technology.

Wealth Data Lead: This position will support the Head of Wealth to inspire the Wealth organization to adopt a data culture and data-driven mindset; provide input as the EDO defines enterprise data strategy and policy/standards; drive compliance with policy/standards and adoption of data governance capabilities; coordinate Wealth initiatives with the enterprise data program; provide input into and provide metrics that measure progress and risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

Wealth Data Lead:

  • Lead the Data Wealth organization within the EDO and implement data governance and operating model for Citi’s Wealth business.

  • Assess the data governance needs for Wealth by partnering with the Head of Wealth and other stakeholders and establish structure and resource model to support.

  • Drive compliance with policies/standards (e.g., data quality) and adoption of data governance capabilities.

  • Champion and lead data transformation efforts (including talent and capabilities) for the Wealth business.

  • Drive Data stakeholder engagement across the Wealth organization.

Experience:

  • Experience in large-scale, multi-year transformation and capability building efforts.

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Extensive prior experience managing complex transformations involving cross business and function collaboration, in a leadership role.

  • Deep working knowledge, experience and expertise in Data Governance.

  • Deep knowledge of the Wealth Management business.

  • Previous experience with regulatory agencies.

Skills

  • Strong change management leadership with ability to influence skills across enterprise.

  • Leadership experience in enterprise-wide or cross-functional role.

  • The ability to partner and influence at a very senior business level ensuring shared ownership of the Company’s overall data strategy and plan execution.

  • Strong understanding of the overall regulatory environment and previous experience working with regulators on data plan execution.

  • Executive communication skills with an ability to describe complex topics in simple terms.

  • Ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment.

  • Sense of urgency, passion for results and personal accountability for achievement.

  • Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Citigroup’s size, scale, and complexity.

  • Sound analytical skills; able to assess large disparate pieces of information and drive effective decision-making.

  • Data and technological knowledge, covering recent topics such as Data governance and Operating models.

  • Ability to develop and implement new concepts and tools.
