Job Summary

 

Position can be at a higher level commensurate with experience. Position is not sponsorship eligible.  Location: Webster, MA or commutable distance preferred or Remote. 

 

The Actuary develops actuarial analyses in accordance with CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) principles. These analyses will directly contribute to the overall performance of the actuarial area, with the potential to positively impact other departments across the organization and the results of the company. Will be accountable for making changes necessary to keep the analyses up-to-date and free of errors and therefore expected to thoroughly understand the analyses.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • 2-3 years of experience or equivalent related knowledge
  • 2 – 3 CAS exams passed
  • Experience carrying out quantitative analyses.
  • Actuarial, analytical, and coding experience
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and makes changes with help of manager
  • Completing basic to intermediate analyses independently
  • SQL or SAS coding knowledge
  • Participation in the actuarial training program and shows significant knowledge retention
  • 6 months of experience in supporting at least 1 of the following areas of the business:
    • PL / CL Product / Underwriting
    • Market Pricing
    • Claims
    • Actuarial - Reserving

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent related experience

 

Position can be on the Data Analyst/Actuarial side as well. CAS exams supported.

Responsibilities

 Build and maintain countrywide data sets for all lines of business and systems

  • Responsible for developing and validating data
  • Ensure data accuracy and timeliness by developing optimal processes and procedures
  • Uses insurance knowledge to build dataset for Market Pricing's analytical needs
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Advanced Analytics and IT
