Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is searching for part time adjunct instructors to teach Data Analytics(Data Science/Development) courses for the School of IT starting this upcoming Summer/Fall semester. Specifically looking for individuals who could teach:
DBMS 160 - Data Visualization - Tuesday 6pm-9pm June start
SDEV153 – Website Development - Tuesday/Thursday 10am-12pm June Start
SDEV 265 - Systems & Software Analysis - Tuesday/Thursday 6pm-9pm October Start

Adjuncts can teach between 1-13 contact hours per week and make $46.75 per contact hour. Interviews will happen on a rolling basis until filled.

In addition to submitting resume, applicants should also include copies of unofficial transcripts and/or current related certifications as *Other documents when applying. If not included applicants will be asked to provide that before being selected for interview.

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
  • Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
  • Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.
  • All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.

Minimum Qualifications: To teach data analytics applicants mustpossesses an earned bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution,  in database, data analytics, information systems or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field 

  • Two years of in-field professional employment 
  • Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award 
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field 
  • Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.
