The Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Data Insight Analyst to support our Quality & Mission Assurance Data Analytics team. This position is a virtual position.

The candidate should have understanding and experience in specifying, collecting, processing and presenting information from potentially several disparate data sets. Generates actionable knowledge from data. Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for quickly developing recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data from many different types of sources. Ability to identify patterns and higher-level information from all the data sources through use of tools and application programming. Understands the general problem space and is confident in explaining the different insights generated from the data.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master's degree with 3 years of related professional experience; 1-year of related experience with a PHD.
  • Ability to extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL).
  • Proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar visualization tool.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences.
  • Ability to effectively solicit stakeholder feedback and determine opportunities for improving solutions based on that feedback.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced SQL techniques such as Recursive Common Table Expressions (CTEs), Subqueries, and Pivoting/Unpivoting data.
  • Experience with Alteryx
  • Experience with data storage and retrieval techniques, ETL, and databases.
  • Experience with U/X design principles.
  • Ability to work with the utmost confidentiality when applicable.
  • Solid statistical understanding

    Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
