You will join the SRM Subdomain, a transnational organisation (Toulouse, Hamburg, Filton, Bremen and Getafe) responsible for the creation of the structural repair manuals across all commercial Airbus aircraft programs. They provide airlines and MROs with the necessary information to autonomously manage up to 70% of damages on the aircraft structural parts that occurred in-service.
Your VIE will consist of contributing to projects aiming at automating the activities and processes needed, to produce this Structural Repair Manual.
Support and drive our journey from a document centric to a data centric way of working, through steps of familiarization with data along the repair processes, existing and to-be deployed solutions, data platforms and network frameworks at Airbus. Analyze and propose most efficient ways to migrate and process data, e.g. by scripting, machine learning and use of AI. Contribute to the development of agreed data migration measures and solutions. Your task is to bring in your curiosity and knowledge, as well as to connect with knowledge owners in the company, to develop and implement new automated solutions.

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Your tasks and responsibilities
Be an active part within the digitalization and automation projects in the frame of the subdomains transformation process.
Drive and support in the digitalization of documents and further data enabling digital continuity.
Familiarization to the repair processes in Engineering and Customer Services in relation to the requirements for data extraction and seamless transfer of data through the processes.
Support the data exposure and creation of data products to be used and align with existing measures.
Analyse and propose necessary process adaptation resulting in a data-driven organization.
Analyse current digitalization in the frame of data driven organisation and processes project landscape. This may include:
Hypothesis clearly defined on data driven approach and solutions
Setup analytic plan
Analyze (unstructured) data and proposals for migration
Efficiency of proposed digitalization bricks
Fitting to organization technical requirements and frameworks
Integration of solution bricks with data processing with internal and interfacing functions
Support the development of aligned proposals, e.g. data exposure and tool development.
Viability of solutions to data governance and EU legislation requirements.
Document the work performed and the results achieved.
Desired skills and qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of machine learning and experience with related tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, (Graph) Databases, AWS and Google development tools and architectures).
Understanding of AI models, including supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, and deep learning.
Experience in programming languages, preferably in Python.
Familiarity with databases and SQL.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Independent and structured working style.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Interest in the digitalization and automation of business processes.
Fluent English skills. German skills would be an advantage.
