The following position is to join our RTX Technology Research Center (RTRC):
The Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts, the necessary equipment, and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM. The AMPCC focuses on the research, development and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.
The Summer Process Intern will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including:
- Developing post fabrication powder removal techniques
- Characterizing fabricated parts to understand defects and surface finishes
- Supporting the commissioning and verification of new equipment
- Designing and utilizing custom fixtures for machine characterization equipment
- Developing mathematical models and visual representations of experimental data
- Data analysis of builds, parts, or material samples
- Operational support of AMPCC projects and lab activities
Qualifications You Must Have
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related technical field and must not graduate before August 2025. Please submit a copy of your academic transcripts with your application.
- Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar
- CAD experience with NX, Solidworks, Creo, or similar
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing concepts or equipment
- Advanced mathematics and data analysis skills with a basic understanding of statistics
