GENERAL FUNCTION:

Fifth Third is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join the wholesale Risk Rating Modeling team under Credit Risk Strategies and Market Risk Management.  This team develops and maintains predictive models that are used to support the Bank’s commercial lending business across different industries. The modeling team covers wholesale lending products such as C&I, CRE, etc.  A key aspect of the role is to support the modeling team and work closely with business unites to understand customer behavior, credit life cycle and default management practices. Modeling decisions will be drawn upon a combination of problem-solving, quantitative analysis and product knowledge. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide quantitative support throughout the Risk or Finance divisions.
  • Assist in quantitative model (i.e., PD, LGD) development and ongoing maintenance using statistical software such as SAS, Python.
  • Apply risk knowledge and use quantitative techniques and tools to execute data management and analytics.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments of all aspects of models e.g., development data quality, model design, and back-testing. 
  • Assist in preparation of documentations to support validation and regulatory compliance.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Advanced degree in quantitative analytics, economics, statistics, engineering, or a related area.
  • 4+ years of experience in model development (e.g., logistic regression, econometric models, machine learning models)
  • Database experience, statistical/analytics experience using statistical software e.g., SAS, Python, SQL, VBA, and Business Objects.
  • Experience with Microsoft office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are necessary.
  • Strong analytical skill to solve problems and facilitate the decision-making process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present quantitative results to non-technical audience.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, and ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to present a professional image.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and to be flexible.

Compensation:

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the US. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
