Role Overview:

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for understanding the landscape of source systems across our portfolio of real estate, financial services, and healthcare businesses. You will design and implement data architectures that bring together these disparate data sources into a cohesive, parent-child data structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture Design: Architect a scalable, unified data structure to integrate and connect diverse data sources from portfolio companies and verticals across real estate, financial services, and healthcare sectors.
  • Source Systems Integration: Gain a deep understanding of source systems and data flows within each portfolio company and vertical, identifying opportunities to unify and centralize data.
  • Parent-Child Data Structures: Design a logical data structure where the holding company level serves as the parent, and portfolio company or vertical-level data is structured as children, ensuring seamless flow of data from subsidiaries to the parent company.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security across all systems and reporting tools.
  • Business Intelligence & Reporting: Work closely with business intelligence teams to ensure that data structures support robust, accurate, and real-time reporting at the parent and portfolio company levels.
  • AI Foundation: Build a data architecture that serves as the foundation for future AI and machine learning initiatives, ensuring the data is structured in a way that is conducive to advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with stakeholders from IT, business, and analytics teams to ensure the architecture supports current and future business needs.
  • Documentation & Training: Provide clear documentation for data architecture, workflows, and processes, and train teams on how to utilize the data infrastructure effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in data architecture or in a similar role, with a strong focus on integrating complex data across multiple systems.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data structures, specifically parent-child models.
  • Expertise in working with diverse data sources across different industries, including real estate, financial services, and healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data management principles.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data storage and processing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Experience in preparing data for AI and machine learning applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with portfolio companies in a holding company structure.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific data challenges in real estate, financial services, or healthcare.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and their impact on data architecture.
