We're an award-winning IT solutions provider to the Federal government. We are seeking a Data Architect to join our team. This is a short-term assignment estimated to last less than six months.
US Citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.
This is a telecommuting position that requires the selected candidate to pick up their equipment in Washington, DC.
The candidate should have an expert understanding of data collection and tracking, data quality management, and data controls. They should be able to work with a multitude of stakeholders to identify all data points, repositories, and structures to provide a holistic understanding of data collected and stored throughout the agency and provide documentation on agency wide data collections, and data quality standards. Any candidate applying for this position must exhibit great attention to detail, understand the importance of getting the correct information to the correct person to make informed decisions, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. The ideal candidate is someone who shows initiative and can manage multiple tasks in a small amount of time. The candidate should possess a strong work ethic, while also valuing collaboration and communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a plan to gather and document all data collection processes within Agency
- Develop and implement a plan to identify and document all data repositories within Agency
- Identify and document all owners for each data set
- Assist with creation of reports and dashboards to track data sources and locations.
- Detailed Operational and Data Design Documentation (As Built), for all aspects of the operational environment, including Network, Datacenter As-Builts
- Detail data collection methods for all services and functions currently being performed
- Detailed data configuration workbooks for all components throughout the agency
- Provide a detailed baseline with all hardware and software, and any other tool that stores or collects data distinguishing what is used by, owned by, maintained by, or funded by the agency
- Develop, maintain, and improve data collection, tracking and storing policies, processes, procedures, and metrics
- Support and respond to requests for information, including providing regular status reports on project
- Analyze and establish information gathering requirements for use in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale knowledge management systems
- Participates in and provides inputs for the Data Working Group
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 12 years of professional work experience, with at least 5 years in a data analytics role and 2 years in a data architect role
- Professional level certification in at least one of the following: Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), CDP Data Analyst, CDP Generalist, CompTIA Data+, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate, Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate, SAS Certified Advanced Analytics Professional, AWS Solutions Architect
- Experience developing customized reports and dashboards
- Ability to create system documentation for ongoing knowledge management
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work directly with clients at all levels of an organization, including high-level internal and external stakeholders
- Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity, and a clear appreciation of end customer needs
- Expertise in Data Discovery Initiatives in a Federal government environment

- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word and other MS Office applications
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with information gathering and information monitoring
- Ability to create documentation for ongoing data identification and management
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience may be substituted in absence of a degree.

Internal title/grade: Data Analytics Analyst, E4
Salary Range: $125,000 - $142,000
All individuals being hired to work for TCG must submit to, and successfully pass, a pre-employment background investigation prior to reporting for their first day of work. The pre-employment background investigation will include verification of employment and education, as well as, a criminal and DMV check.
Additional documentation and background checks will also be required for positions that require clearance from the Federal government.
