Fintech Operations Data Specialist - ACH

POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible for assisting in Fintech Operations.  The incumbent collaborates with management regarding Fintech Partnerships and Payments clients to focus on operational items in the Government payment space.  This position should know the cycle of ACHs and ACH returns, also including, but not limited to reading of ACH files.  This position will write simple SQL queries in support of the Reconciliation team while also performing reconciliation duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitor the posting and reversals of ACH payments to cardholders.
• Prepares reports to track statistics, identify trends and/or patterns, and assess/streamline processes & procedures.
• Assist reconciliation team to resolve more complex recon issues for existing products.
• Responsible for daily reconciliation of National Products accounts.
• Manages the research of accounts that are out of balance or items past due 90 days.
• Perform quality assurance reviews on data that we receive from processors to ensure the accuracy of our database.
• Assist in the movement of funds between prepaid owned accounts when there are adjustments
• Work with Deposit Operation team to resolve outstanding ACH items.
• Utilize existing and create new SQL queries to troubleshoot issues and identify efficiencies.
• Understand process flows of all files pertaining to Fintech and Payment programs to assist IS/IT in problem resolution.
• Work with data in the flat files & understand how it affects operations and the overall products within National Products.
• Work with Processors, Program Managers and Database team on recon difference resolution.
• May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others as subject matter experts when it comes to ACH processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency
• Prepare for or provide requested documentation or information for Audit purposes
• Completes special projects and performs other responsibilities and duties assigned by management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school degree or GED required.
• College degree in business or Computer Science related field preferred.
• Five years’ related experience in the Prepaid, Payments, financial industry.
• Two years’ experience in SQL preferred.
• Five years’ experience in ACH payments preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks daily.
• Understanding of the funds flow life cycle.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience or knowledge of bank accounting practices and principles of internal controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office with fluency in data manipulation, importing and exporting using Excel.
• Experience in reconciliation processes associated with Fintech products.
• Proven ability to reconcile activity in various DDA and General Ledger accounts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Starting annualized salary range DOQ: $52,696 - $75,280
