Task Description

• Conduct advanced research and development in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, cybersecurity, or other relevant fields.
• Develop innovative solutions, algorithms, and systems to address complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into real-world applications.
• Design and build prototypes or proof-of-concept systems based on research.

Basic Qualifications

• Postdoc, PhD graduate or PhD candidate in Computer Science, or Computer Science and Engineering.
• Strong foundational knowledge in at least one area, such as machine learning, software architecture, algorithms, or network security.
• Proven ability to perform research and deliver impactful results.
• Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Excellent command of English and technical terminology.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postdoctoral experience or advanced knowledge in specialized domains.
• Practical experience with tools and frameworks relevant to e.g., cloud computing (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Azure), big data processing (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Apache Spark), or ML (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• A history of publishing in high-impact venues and contributing to open-source or industry initiatives.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as quantum computing, reinforcement learning, graph databases, edge computing, serverless architecture, zero trust architecture, or blockchain. 
• Good knowledge of German.
