As a Staff Data Engineer on the Marketing Technology Platform, you’ll engage in all facets of application development, including requirements, design, coding, ensuring security measures, testing, and overseeing production releases.

Your day to day

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs while accommodating large volumes of data.
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our data systems, monitoring performance and optimizing as needed to handle increasing data volumes.
  • Implement automated data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy at scale.
  • Impeccable analytical and problem-solving skills to solve hard complex problems in a fast-paced environment. Troubleshoot data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in a timely manner to minimize impact on data processing.
  • Create and maintain design documents and documentation for data pipelines, systems, and processes.
  • Participate actively in design and code reviews, provide constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback into your own work to maintain high standards of code quality and functionality.

What do you need to bring-

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Technology, strong hands-on SQL development experience, and in any MPP systems.
  • Experience in relation and dimensional data modeling and schema design.
  • Experience with data architecture, data quality improvement, metadata and data governance.
  • Experience with Google Big Query, Python, ETL Coding.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform Services, Big Data and streaming integrations
  • Expertise in database programming and performance turning, with strong proficiency with query plans and crafting curated datasets
  • Proficiency in PySpark, Pandas or other data processing libraries.
  • Familiarity with data movement techniques and best practices to handle large volumes of data and reporting.
  • Familiarity with ETLS tools such as Airflow, Google Cloud Dataflow, etc.
  • Familiarity with Data warehouse methodologies like Kimball, Inmon or Data vault.
