Job Description Summary

               

Participate in a paid internship program built around your career goals and hands-on projects that impact the organization. As part of the Lamb Weston University Recruiting Internship Program, Interns work towards completing a Capstone project and are assigned a mentor who will guide and evaluate performance. Whether you are interested in Agricultural Science, Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Manufacturing, Food Science, Marketing, or Engineering, our highly selective summer intern program has projects that will help you build the next stage in your career.

- Paid internship, May – August (actual dates may vary)

Job Description

The Data Analyst Intern will gain technical industry insights while assisting professionals on the IT Data Analytics team in various projects. As an intern, you will be responsible for a capstone project alongside various smaller initiatives to help build your career.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting  reports from the current reporting and work with team to understand and execute the tasks

  • Use SQL querying skills to extract, manipulate, and transform data.

  • Write basic SQL queries to retrieve data from databases and ensure data integrity.

  • Collaborate with team members and assist in the development of data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI or similar platforms for internal stakeholders.

  • Participate in testing and validation to ensure the accuracy and completeness of various reports.

  • Prepare progress reports and updates for the project team and stakeholders as needed.

  • Act as the liaison between the IT Data Analytics team and business stakeholders to identify challenges, brainstorm creative solutions, and deploy effective strategies.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be a current Junior, Senior, or Master’s student enrolled in a related program: Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics,  or related field

  • Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred

  • This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday but a successful candidate may need to occasionally flex to other shifts (example: 2nd shift, night shift) as part of your capstone project

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet the Lamb Weston Authorized Driver standards

  • Basic understanding of SQL programming and database concepts is required.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools is required. Power BI experience is preferred.

  • Classroom or project experience with data reporting is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments / teams

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $22.00
