We are a team of highly experienced and collaborative bioinformaticians and we are seeking a qualified bioinformatician to help us leverage state of the art AI for healthcare. Your work will involve research and development of AI based bioinformatics applications using multiple kinds of biological data, particularly next-generation sequencing (NGS). Working on the crossroads of cutting edge AI and bioinformatics will equip you with the skills and experience of applying AI in improving patients’ lives.

 

The Opportunity

  • Work with experts for multiple applications to understand and analyze biological data (primarily DNA sequencing data)

  • Explore machine learning approaches and architectures to research scientific questions and develop applications using f multimodal biological data

  • Demonstrate the effectiveness of your work through real world data

  • Collaborate in a cross-functional setting and present your work to project stakeholders

  • Advance the science while keeping the work documented and reproducible for broader adoption

Who You Are  

  • You have a Masters in  Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Machine Learning / Bioinformatics with 2 years of experience  or PhD in  Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Machine Learning / Bioinformatics 

  • You are proficient in a programming language (C++, Java and/or  R)

  • You have 3 years of Machine learning expertise, particularly in deep learning

  • You have the ability to work in a Unix-like environment on an HPC compute cluster

  • You have strong algorithmic and problem solving skills

Preferred  

  • You are proficient in Python

  • You have prior experience working in the Biotech industry 

  • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • You have experience with analyzing biological data, particularly sequencing data  

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Santa Clara, CA  is $98,200-182,400,   Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
