Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Illinois WISEWOMAN Program (IWP) Data Manager. The professional-level position is responsible for managing the program data collection, analysis and reporting elements of the IWP.  The Illinois Department of Public Health’s Office of Women’s Health and Family Services seeks to hire a leader who can monitor program data to ensure compliance with state/federal reporting requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Organizes, plans, executes, controls, and evaluates the data program for the federally funded Illinois WISEWOMAN Program Reviews quality of program data entry by IWP lead agencies.
  • Completes projects and assignments in the office and in the field, to ensure IWP consistency and to identify and resolve potential data problems.
  • Provides consultative services to the IWP evaluation contractor and staff to ensure coordinated data collection in the program data and billing system.
  • Collects, organizes, and evaluates data from the program data and billing system to prepare various IWP reports for the Department and for Center for Disease Control.
  • Initiates and designs new or revised data collection techniques and forms as necessary to address changes to required IWP data.
  • Develops statewide policies and procedures for the grant programs of IWP.
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-service training, and Women’s Health Conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires two years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience compiling data, preparing reports, and conducting analysis.
  • One year experience serving as a liaison to federal funders, external partners, and grantee organizations.
  • One year experience developing policy guides for data entry.
  • One year experience compiling data to support program evaluation.
  • One year experience working with Microsoft Software and data analysis tools.
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
