What do we need
Dotmatics ELN as seeking a Field Application Scientist/Pre-sales Engineer. You will be delivering technical messaging and demonstrations in support of new business opportunities and work closely with our customers, Sales and Services teams to understand customer use cases, workflows, initial implementation requirements and current & future state customer systems. You will act as a support for managing some Proof-of-Concept projects and evaluations, as well as supporting in delivering some training in support of those activities. You will have the opportunity to assist in scope development with the customer, “up-selling” additional scope where possible, to include estimate and proposal support.

In this role you will get to

  • Perform demo cycles, RFP’s and customer engagements
  • Build productive customer/ consultant relationships developing sponsors for Dotmatics and seek to capitalize upon opportunities to increase satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Be responsible for the architecting and designing of solutions bids, 
  • Support, attend and lead internal and external meetings, discussions and negotiations with stakeholders, consultants and third-party vendors to ensure preferred outcomes are achieved
  • Support on providing coaching and support to sales professionals or BDRs
  • Support both sales professionals and customers during the technical requirement definition and solutions development.
  • Participate in the creation of technical customer roadmaps and conduct customer demonstrations and presentations 
  • Support the transference of proposed designs to the delivery team and the customer success manager, remaining engaged with the customer and returning as the trusted advisor for the next opportunity
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of Dotmatics SaaS offering and attend regular training sessions provided by Commercial leadership and Development
  • Provide feedback and liaise with product management to ensure Dotmatics product portfolio is appropriate to the changing needs of current and new customers, and suits our regional market

We are looking for people who hold a degree in a scientific discipline; ideally Data Science or Bioinformatics and have a minimum of 4 years experience in a customer facing role. You will be experienced in presenting solutions and utilising knowledge of Pre-sales best practice for software demonstrations. In this role you should be willing to travel to customer sites up to 40%. 

The key skills we are looking for in an ideal candidate are:

  • Working Knowledge of Scientific/informatics software
  • Understanding of SaaS architecture, integrations and security
  • The ability to assist customers with engineering of a architecture such as AWS and Lakehouse technologies
  • SQL and Python in order to build prototypes of workflows and integrations to enable customer understanding the configuration extensions 
  • Modelling scientific data, and crafting solutions, based on product knowledge and industry best practices
  • Conduct & Deliver needs analysis to understand scientific challenges, business needs, and critical requirements
  • Working understanding of implementing, supporting, and/or integrating scientific systems 

You may also demonstrate 

  • Additional spoken language skills
  • An understanding of the lifecycle of pharma, biopharma and chemical & material industry
  • Advanced communication & presentation skills internally & externally
