Software Engineer – Robotics and GUI (m/f/d)

About the Job

We’re looking for a motivated Software Engineer – Robotics and GUI (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies to focus on developing advanced unmanned ground vehicles for governmental and civilian applications.

In your day-to-day work, you’ll program and design the communication and control station for our portfolio company’s robot, ensuring the secure and efficient operation of their robotic platforms.

Join our portfolio company: A German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles to spearhead automation in both governmental and civilian use cases.

In this role, you’ll:

• Programme and integrate software for sensor and actuator systems in robotics applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, deliver, and refine integrated robotic solutions
• Test and validate hardware-software integrations, ensuring reliability, security, and adherence to operational standards
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for on-site and remote issues, resolving system challenges promptly
• Document technical processes and configurations to enhance knowledge sharing and foster collaboration

Your Profile

• Proficiency in C++ development and application design
• Experience with QML and Qt to design intuitive control stations for robots, as well as robotics control and monitoring interfaces
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset, with the capability to work both independently and within agile teams
• Experience with robotic software integration, ideally with the Robot Operating System (ROS 2), is advantageous
• Bachelor’s degree, Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field
• Fluency in English is required, and German is a plus

Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
