We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Generative AI engineer to join our newly created Group Technology function. Working closely and supporting the Chief Information & Data Officer you will push the boundaries of commercialising data across our product portfolio, transforming the way in which our customer interacts with our platforms, you will have led and will have a strong background in artificial intelligence and commercialisation. You will engage with R&D and stakeholders both internally and externally, to focus on revenue growth and drive augmented and autonomous intelligence through the ‘Power of Data’.

This role involves working on cutting-edge AI projects to enhance our product offerings and drive technological innovation.

You will have a commercial data mindset, you will lead our AI development on cutting-edge AI projects, to enhance our product offerings and drive technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties include:

• Develop Generative Models: Design, implement, and optimize generative AI models such as GANs, VAEs, autoregressive models, LLMs and Agentic AI.
• Research and Development: Conduct research to stay updated with the latest advancements in generative AI and apply them to real-world problems.
• Data Preparation: Collect, preprocess, and manage large datasets required for training generative models.
• Model Training and Evaluation: Train generative models and evaluate their performance using appropriate metrics and benchmarks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D), software engineers, and product managers, to integrate AI solutions into products.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, algorithms, and processes.
• Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices in software development.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to existing generative models and workflows

• Ethical AI: Understanding of ethical considerations and best practices in AI development, working with risk and legal teams to implement approaches that supports future legislation

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in leading and delivering AI development, with a focus on generative models.
• Technical Skills: Use of Databricks, proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with AI frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras. Use of LLMs Claude, Llama, Gamma, Qwen (Or equivalent)
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Oracle cloud for deploying AI models
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and translate technical into business outcomes
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Commercial Mindset: Prepare business cases for new AI products (Development investment V commercial revenue to ARR/NRR), ability to present to senior leadership 

• Experience with publishing research for conferences and journals (Preferred)
