Data Analyst - Ignite

About the role:
We are looking for a skilled and driven Data Analyst to support the EMEA Data Product Owner for Chubb’s e-trading market facing platform, Ignite. This role is instrumental in carrying out the execution of the data strategy alongside the Ignite vision. The Data Analyst will act as a vital resource in analysing data requirements, providing insights, and ensuring that data products meet the needs of business stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities and an understanding of how data can drive decision-making within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Insights:
- Partner with business teams and the EMEA Data Product Owner to analyse requirements and identify data sources needed for analytics and reporting applications.
- Conduct comprehensive data analyses to extract insights that inform product development and business strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and update dashboards, reports, and other visualization tools that track key performance indicators and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Support for Product Management:
- Collaborate with the Data Product Owner to understand and document business needs, translating them into actionable specifications for data features.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve existing products and contribute to new data product development.
- Assist in managing the product backlog by prioritizing features, enhancements, and data pipelines based on business value, technical feasibility, and urgency.
Data Quality & Governance:
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data products by implementing quality checks and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Document data sources within the enterprise data catalogue, including metadata, lineage, and classification information, adhering to open data standards and governance policies.
- Recommend solutions to enhance data quality issues identified in source systems, collaborating with data governance teams as needed.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with the Data Product Owner, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Report on analysis progress and present findings in a clear, concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Data Product Owner to guide the direction of analysis work, ensuring insights align with overall product objectives and business needs.
Analytics Support:
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses as required to support specific business initiatives or projects.
- Create analytical tools and methodologies to facilitate enhanced data insights for the analytics and data science teams.
- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data pipelines for improved scalability and timely data delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably in product management or analytics settings within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Demonstrated understanding of data management principles and best practices.
Beneficial Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience using project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complex data findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus, particularly understanding underwriting, actuarial work, or operational processes.
Reporting Structure:
The Data Analyst will report to EMEA Ignite Data Product Owner will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including data engineers, business analysts, and operational teams.
