Product Analyst Team lead

Description
We are looking for a Product Analyst Team Lead to lead a team of highly skilled analysts with deep domain knowledge in chargebacks. As the team lead, you will be responsible for guiding the team in delivering data-driven insights, optimizing processes, product and decisions that improve product outcomes. You will be working closely with product managers, designers, engineers, customer success , sales and other cross-functional teams to provide the analysis and reporting necessary to optimize product performance, specifically in the chargeback domain.
In this role, you will balance leadership and mentorship responsibilities with hands-on analysis, ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively to meet business goals.
1.Team Leadership and Mentorship
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of product analysts with a focus on chargebacks and related domains.
- Provide guidance on best practices in analytics, reporting, and data interpretation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Oversee team performance, providing feedback and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build the team’s roadmap and KPIs, prioritize tasks and have a vision for the team
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with analysts to support career development and resolve blockers.
2.Product and Chargeback Domain Expertise
- Act as the subject matter expert on chargebacks and the broader product domain.
- conduct in depth research on chargeback rules and regulations and stay up to date with rules/regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, customer success and sales) to define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to chargebacks, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Provide in-depth analysis of chargeback trends, working with product managers to prioritize product enhancements and optimize the performance analysis and QBRs.
3.Data Analysis and Reporting
- Lead the team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support product decisions and feature improvements.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that highlight key product metrics and chargeback performance.
- Provide actionable insights from data analysis to inform product strategy, drive product improvements, and enhance the user experience.
4. Collaboration with Stakeholders
- Work closely with product managers to align on product, CS and sales goals and ensure data analysis is providing value to decision-making.
- Give support (reports and insights) to Product, CS and sales teams ensuring data-driven recommendations are explained properly and implemented effectively.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely to various stakeholders, including senior leadership.
5. Process Optimization and Efficiency
- Improve existing processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data collection, reporting, and analysis related to chargebacks.
- Implement best practices for data quality, ensuring the team maintains accurate, reliable data for decision-making.
- Continuously refine and optimize workflows within the team to drive productivity and high-quality output.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Economics). A master's degree is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience as a product analyst or data analyst, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Strong understanding of chargebacks, payment systems, or related domains in fintech, e-commerce, or payments industries.
- Proven experience leading teams and mentoring junior analysts to success.
- Advanced proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Strong understanding of data management practices, with experience in building and maintaining KPIs and dashboards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, balancing leadership and hands-on analytical
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development processes.
- Experience with chargeback data management tools or fraud prevention systems- Advantage
