We are now looking for a new Analyst with an interest in credit markets and with coding skills to join Debt Syndicate at Nordea.
About our team
This is an opportunity to join the leading debt capital markets platform in the Nordics. The position is in Debt Syndicate in Copenhagen and your job will be to support the team and its daily operations. Debt Syndicate is where it all happens, arranging new bonds and loans. Through the job you will gain valuable insights into the inner workings of financial markets in the growing debt capital markets space, in the Nordic region and internationally. The position demands strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, specifically an interest in credit markets and coding skills. Nordea is at the forefront of transforming the way financial data is analyzed and used, including within traditional forms of data analysis, insight generation using large scale datasets, and through leveraging of new emerging AI/ML tools. This is a great opportunity to merge your data expertise and coding skills with the dynamic world of financial data and tackling of real-world challenges.
As part of Nordea Investment Banking, you will work together with some of the most dedicated syndicate people in the Nordic region. You will also be working closely with your pan-Nordic colleagues in Debt Capital Markets as well as other teams within Investment Banking, gaining exposure to Leveraged Finance, as well as Corporate Finance and Equities.

What you’ll be doing:
- You enjoy working with a broad palette of things with consistent attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Supporting business intelligence compilation and income reporting
- Specific responsibility in respect of working with our in-house deal capture system
- Assist the team on live transactions and ticket booking processes
- Daily market snapshots and weekly market updates
- Client presentations
- Pricing analyses
- Relative value comparables across industry sectors and for acquisition transactions
- Investor allocations
- Managing and analysis of league tables
Who you are
To thrive in this role, we believe that you:
- Have a keen interest in the fundamentals of macro-economics and financial markets and want to be able to articulate recommendations to our clients based on these insights
- Possess the ability to exercise good judgment in pressurised situations whilst maintaining a solution-driven mindset
- Have an interest in working with data and sufficient technical skills to operate and maintain our in-house IT applications, including having experience working with Python on an at least an intermediate level, querying data using SQL, and an understanding of working with BI software (Power BI). Preferably, you also have a level of prowess in using JIRA and Git
- Have expertise in working with Excel and PowerPoint, and having had exposure to working with VBA, is a plus
Your experience and background:
- Business school or University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent work experience)
- First-rate communication skills in English
