The anticipated salary range for this role is between $140,000.00 and $185,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The role has a dual mandate and focus on delivery of strategic BIS solutions and achieving necessary integration of Audit tools with the broader technology ecosystem. Strategic BIS solutions include development of stakeholder reporting capabilities, internal management reports, and operational dashboards through Alteryx and Tableau. Integration of audit tools represent the next step in the evolution our department’s capabilities by ensuring the successful integration of strategic data sources and insights coming from Data Bricks, Denodo, and Azure Data Lake with our audit management system (Archer). 

Role Objectives: Delivery

•    Analyzes, engineers, develops, and validates advanced business intelligence solutions across several applications in the technology stack, including Data Bricks, Alteryx, SQL Datawarehouse, and Tableau.
•    Participates in IAD/Tech programs and projects to identify needs and ensure integration outcomes across systems and data sources.
•    Collects and interprets requirements from stakeholders and produces conceptual design / requirement documents to include context, data flow, process flow, logical diagrams, data references, etc.
•    Evaluate and continuously improve reports, dashboards, applications, and other BI solutions and communicate results and outcomes to management team as required.
•    All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of role and capabilities, including support of ad-hoc and reoccurring data operations.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

•    Demonstrates accountability and collaboration as a team member by working successfully with their immediate team and others.
•    Presents ideas and instructions clearly, verbally and in writing using appropriate presentation tools as needed.
•    Assists with data governance initiatives and workgroups as needed. Work with Data Governance team to ensure that all data is captured and utilized in ways that meet security standards and regulatory requirements.
•    Works with end users/consumers on product feedback. 

Role Objectives: Expertise

•    Proficient knowledge and applied skill in the development of products through Alteryx and Tableau. 
•    Ability to systemically generate raw materials of stakeholder reporting data into end-user docs (Microsoft PPT).
•    Proficient knowledge in 3rd LoD issue management processes and reporting expectations. 
•    Developed communication and presentation capabilities to illustrate reporting/solution concepts to a wide audience of stakeholders.
•    Proficient knowledge and applied skill in the construction of ML in python is a plus.

Qualifications and Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in management information systems or related field. 
•    7+ years of experience in development of BI and stakeholder reporting solutions. 
•    Strong understanding of Internal Audit Department process including risk assessment, annual planning, and issue management as a process. 
•    Strong proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau. 
•    Familiarity with data warehouse requirement gathering and testing.
•    Strong collaborations skills with cross-functional and technical teams.
