The Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence is a forward-thinking and strategic leader with a strong focus on harnessing data to drive innovation, scalability, and growth. This essential role involves close collaboration with business leaders and technology teams to shape and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with our organizational goals. Your leadership will not only inspire but also act as a driving force for embedding a data-centric culture throughout the organization, making you a key player in our mission to achieve and exceed our ambitious objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Building Data Foundations (40%)
- Build the first Data and AI focused team while incorporating existing Data and Analytics teams.
- Foster trust and credibility throughout the organization by prioritizing data requirements and delivering meaningful solutions.
- Engage proactively in business and technical discussions to advocate for best practices in data management and analytics, ensuring these efforts align with key business objectives and deliver quantifiable results.
- Advocate for data quality and governance, ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.
Business Operations/Leadership (30%)
- Drive the evolution of the Data & Analytics organization from a conventional support function to a strategic business ally, cultivating a genuinely data-centric culture.
- Establish and execute a vision for a robust, scalable, and cutting-edge data platform and infrastructure.
- Adopt a consulting approach to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of requirements. As a medium-sized team, our leaders actively engage in problem-solving while also shaping and steering strategy.
- Act as a collaborative leader within a high-performing team, inspiring trust through both competence and character, demonstrating vulnerability, and providing support to your teammates.
Implementing AI/ML Capabilities and Tools (20%)
- Formulate and implement a data-centric operational strategy, transitioning to advanced data infrastructure and tools, and utilizing AI/ML to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Explore and integrate artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies into business operations collaborating with other Technology Directors.
- Identify opportunities to utilize AI for enhanced decision-making and efficiency, and establish a process for evaluating which opportunities offer the greatest business benefits.
Crafting and Executing Data/AI Strategy (10%)
- Develop and execute a data and AI strategy that supports the company’s business objectives and drives innovation in construction processes
- Implement a strategic data governance framework, working collaboratively across departments to improve data quality, ensure compliance, and enhance accessibility.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics, machine learning, AI technologies, and relevant programming languages.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction industry processes, challenges, and opportunities.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Pay
$139000 - $236300 / year
