VLSI CAD Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

Our work at NVIDIA is dedicated towards a computing model focused on visual and AI computing. The GPU has also shown to be spectacularly effective at solving some of the most sophisticated problems in computer science. Are you interested in design automation and crafting scalable infrastructure for the next generation of AI chips? Join a team of dedicated engineers developing custom hardware that help power these chips. You will have the chance to create and deploy novel algorithms and methodologies to help accelerate the time to market for all NVIDIA chips.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop creative and innovative EDA software and algorithms to enable rapid VLSI design.

• Improve existing flows & methodologies to streamline design cycles.

• Collaborate with colleagues in circuit design and flow automation teams.

• Apply ML techniques to VLSI design tool flows.

What we need to see:

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

• Experience or coursework in digital CMOS circuit design.

• Proven understanding of circuit simulation and static timing analysis.

• Proficiency in high level programming languages like Perl, Python, TCL.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Prior semiconductor experience is a plus.

The hourly rate for our interns is 18 USD - 71 USD. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
