Our challenge
We are seeking a skilled Python Developer with a strong background in business analysis to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing robust and scalable Python applications while also leveraging business analysis skills to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions. This role combines technical development with strategic insight, making it essential for project success and alignment with business objectives.
Additional Information
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ is $95k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Python Development:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and systems.
- Write reusable, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to enhance performance.
- Business Analysis:
- Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into technical specifications.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify areas for improvement in existing systems and processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for technical and business processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business objectives and needs.
- Facilitate requirement workshops and meetings, ensuring clear communication between technical and non-technical teams.
- Project Management:
- Assist in project planning and management, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Monitor project progress and provide status updates to stakeholders.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
Requirements:
You are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Python Developer 8+ years with a strong portfolio of projects.
- Experience in a business analyst role or similar capacity, with a solid understanding of business processes and requirements gathering.
- Proficiency in Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask) and knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and version control systems (Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Pandas, Matplotlib, Tableau).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello).
