As a Senior Analyst of Model Validation and Reporting, you will be validating models used in the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical statistical background and experience developing or validating models including different methodologies. This role requires a curious learning mindset to explore new approaches.
Outcomes and Activities:
- This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
- Understand complex programming created as part of the model development and create programming for independent testing.
- Perform independent data pull and review the different validation model components including data, methodology, and model performance.
- Assess if the model meets the business requirements and identify deficiencies.
- Document the validation in a self-contained report.
- Participate in performance monitoring activities.
- Investigate new methodologies used in model development.
- Use products and tools needed for the validation of statistical models.

- Communicate statistical information to others (both verbal and written) in a way they can understand.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance or related field).
- 3+ years’ experience developing or validating models. (Sr. Analyst)
- 3+ years’ experience using programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, etc. (Sr. Analyst)
- 5+ years’ experience developing or validating models. (Manager)
- 6+ years’ experience developing or validating models. (Sr. Manager)
- 5+ years’ experience using programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, etc. (Manager/Sr. Manager)
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel. (Manager/Sr. Manager)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience solving problems across disciplines preferably in the financial services industry. (Manager)
- Deep experience solving problems across disciplines preferably in the financial services industry. (Sr. Manager)
Preferred:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, etc. (Manager/Sr. Manager)
- Advanced SAS and Python programming experience
- Experience in model validation
- Experience with ML/AI algorithms
- Experience in the consumer lending industry, with some preference given to automobile finance experience. (Manager/Sr. Manager)
- Possess knowledge of the auto lending industry and related analytical tools. (Manager/Sr. Manager)
- Recent consulting or small company experience. (Manager/Sr. Manager)
Targeted Compensation: $110,000 - $210,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan
This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
