We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Solutions Architect to join our team. In this role, you will design, plan, and model data platform solutions on Azure, leveraging your extensive experience in architecting data solutions with a focus on microservices principles. You will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights, contributing to high-volume production systems, and ensuring the optimal performance of data pipelines.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•    Architecting and Designing: Lead the design and architecture of data solutions using Azure Databricks, data governance tooling, and other Azure services, following microservices principles.
•    Data Modelling: Develop and implement data models that support business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos, and Tableau.
•    Data Pipeline Creation: Utilize cloud-based tools to create, manage, and optimize data pipelines for high-volume production systems.
•    Programming: Use programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R to access, transform, and analyze data.
•    Databricks Workflow Deployment: Deploy and manage Databricks notebooks and workflows to streamline data processing and analytics.
•    Agile Collaboration: Work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to iteratively develop and deliver data products.
•    Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize data pipeline performance to ensure efficiency and reliability in data processing.
 
Qualifications:
Experience: Over 5 years of experience developing cloud-based data solutions, with a strong focus on Azure.
Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate and Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
Technical Skills:
•    Extensive expertise in architecting data solutions using Lakehouse and Domain-Driven principles, including Databricks on Azure.
•    Comprehensive knowledge of data lifecycle management and governance, with experience in data cataloging, classifications and policies using tools such as Collibra or Purview.
•    Proven ability to design and implement high-performance, scalable data pipelines, leveraging automation, advanced ETL/ELT practices, and automated quality testing frameworks to ensure reliability and efficiency.
•    Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enforcing robust zero trust networking principles, and applying DevOps best practices to achieve scalable, secure, and resilient system architectures.
•    Expertise in developing and optimizing data pipelines, with advanced skills in data transformation and analysis using SQL, Python, and R, including SQL Analytic Functions.
•    Expertise in advanced Databricks features, including workflows for DAG-based dependency management, Delta Lake integration, and Delta Live Tables for real-time data pipeline orchestration and processing.
•    Expertise in data modeling for self-service business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Cognos, and Tableau, as well as modeling methodologies for data science and broader application consumption. 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience with additional Azure services and tools.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about data solutions.
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•    Familiarity with technologies such as Snowflake and Fabric.
•    Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional Certification.
