The Role
The Data Analyst is a role in the Europe Data Team who is responsible for the analysis of both business requirements and data available within our European analytics platform, which collects data from several sources – and it is based on Microsoft Azure technologies.
The focus of this role is to analyse data and business requirements from a functional perspective, supporting European business and data teams in the clarification of requirements, identification of improvements and the definition of the evolution path and guidelines for the analytical platform, aligned with the overall Europe Data Strategy.
This role is part of functional/business analytical process and will support the technical team in the solution definition to achieve the delivery of consistent and accurate data and insights to various business teams (Sales, Underwriting, Finance, etc.). Therefore, this role requires someone who should be equally comfortable with functional and data analysis (including data visualisation tools), while dealing directly with a diverse audience.
Considering the strategic Data journey we are going through in Europe, there is the opportunity to shape the path and deliver the outcome. There is also the need for you to contribute and work with the team in delivering our current commitments, so business as usual is part of this role.
What does a Data Analyst do?
A Data Analyst is someone responsible for analysing business requirements and data available within our Europe Data Platform. A Data Analyst should be able to analyse data and produce insights to a varied client base, at the same time supporting the data team in delivering new analytical components and ensuring current commitments.
Main activities for this role should be:
- Business requirements analysis
- Data analysis and discovery
- Support data modelling and mapping activities to ensure business rules’ configuration
- Data extraction to support business ad-hoc requests
- Monitor analytical platform results
- Ensure the data is correctly collected from the different sources
Technical must-haves
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree, ideally in Management / Computer Science / Mathematic / Economics / Statistics (or similar)
- Solid background in functional analysis, ideally in insurance business (min. of 2-3 years)
- Ability to understand business needs and translate them to technical requirements
- Experience in Business Intelligence / Data & Analytics roles (min. of 2-3 years)
- Knowledge of SQL and analytical/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI), required to perform data analysis
- Fluent in English, verbally and written
