AI Solutions Manager

Orbital Engineering is seeking an experienced and dynamic AI Solutions Manager to lead our AI Engineering team and drive the development and implementation of artificial intelligence initiatives across the organization. This role is pivotal in advancing AI technologies, identifying practical and responsible applications of AI, and delivering tailored solutions that align with business objectives. Success in this role requires technical expertise, strong leadership, and project management skills to guide AI projects and ensure the achievement of strategic goals. This is a fully remote position within the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Strategy and Planning:
• Develop and implement AI strategies aligned with Orbital’s broader organizational goals.
• Stay informed about the latest AI trends, tools, and technologies, evaluating their potential for the business.
• Identify and implement AI platforms and tools to meet company needs.

2. Solution Design and Development:
• Identify business challenges and address them through AI-driven solutions.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI models and algorithms.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of AI solutions and processes.

3. Project Management:
• Lead AI projects from conception to deployment, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize AI initiatives that deliver business value.

4. Team Leadership:
• Oversee the daily operations and sprint activities of a multidisciplinary AI team.
• Set priorities, assign tasks, and ensure projects are executed to the highest standards.
• Mentor team members and provide opportunities for professional growth.
• Align team goals with organizational objectives to drive success and innovation.

5. Stakeholder Management:
• Communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal business units to ensure AI solutions meet their requirements.
• Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations for executives and stakeholders.

6. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
• Monitor AI models and solutions for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Implement optimizations and enhancements as needed.
• Ensure all AI solutions comply with ethical guidelines and industry regulations.

7. Product Ownership:
• Serve as the Product Owner for all Orbital AI services, including the Site Monitoring Service and future developments.
• Manage the full lifecycle of AI products, from concept and development to deployment and maintenance.
• Build and maintain client relationships by understanding their evolving needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap outlining the vision, goals, and milestones for AI services.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for business development, identifying new opportunities and supporting go-to-market strategies.

8. Client Engagement:
• Cultivate relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between the AI division and clients, identifying new business opportunities and delivering exceptional client experiences.

9. Sales Leadership:
• Develop and execute sales strategies for AI products, targeting specific markets and customer segments.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create compelling value propositions and promotional materials.
• Set and achieve revenue goals for AI services.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing AI or software development projects.
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning technologies, including experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of ethical considerations in AI development.
• Experience in business development activities and managing client relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.
