Sales Data Engineer / BI Developer – LHH, Global Sales Operations

The Global Sales Global Sales Data Engineer / BI Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining sales and marketing data infrastructure, ensuring the quality and integrity of data across systems, and developing business intelligence (BI) solutions that empower data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in data engineering, data integration, and BI tools, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and insightful data solutions. You will help transform raw data into meaningful insights through effective reporting, visualization, BI dashboards, predictive analytics and automation of key business processes.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL processes, managing databases, developing BI dashboards and reports, and ensuring seamless integration of data across different platforms. The role also requires a strong understanding of both the technical aspects of data infrastructure and the business requirements to provide actionable insights for marketing campaigns, sales strategies, and customer behaviour analysis.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in data management, with a strong focus on ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across sales & marketing systems and databases.

Location:

  • Remote, Global (Ideal location will be in Europe where LHH has a presence- UKI, Spain, Italy, BNP or DACH or eastern half of USA)

 

In this role you can expect to

Key Accountabilities

 

Data Analysis & Modelling:

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to integrate various sales and marketing data sources (CRM, marketing automation tools, website analytics, etc.).
  • Develop data models to support key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives across Global Sales and Marketing.
  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Clean and preprocess raw data, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity for analysis.

Business Intelligence Development:

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
  • Create and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Ensure BI solutions are user-friendly, accurate, and aligned with business needs.

Advanced Analytics & Insights:

  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to provide predictive insights into sales trends, customer behaviour, and salesforce performance.
  • Design and implement sales dashboards and performance reports that provide real-time, actionable insights to leadership and sales teams.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Business Intelligence teams to identify areas for improvement and develop tailored analytics solutions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Provide actionable insights through reports and visualizations to guide decision-making processes.
  • Present data findings and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Integration & Automation:

  • Work with engineering teams to integrate BI and data science solutions into existing business workflows and systems.
  • Automate repetitive data tasks and reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Continuously optimise data workflows to improve performance and scalability.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with emerging data science and BI trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Propose and implement improvements to existing data systems, dashboards, and models.
  • Contribute to best practices and standards for data analysis, BI development, and machine learning within the organization.
  • Foster a data-driven culture within the sales organization by providing training, guidance, and resources on data utilization and analytics tools.

 

All About You

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degrees preferred
  • 3+ years proven experience in sales performance analysis, business intelligence development, or data science, preferably in a sales-driven organization.
  • Strong expertise in data architecture, with experience designing scalable and efficient data models for performance analytics.
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, etc.) and data visualization techniques for reporting and dashboard creation.
     
  • Strong understanding of sales performance metrics, including pipeline management, forecasting, sales cycle analysis, and revenue attribution.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex initiatives from inception to delivery.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Experience in advanced analytics and statistical techniques.
  • Certification in Business Intelligence or Data Science (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning).
